Five Students Sentenced to Three Months in Prison in Tétouan
The First Instance Court in Tétouan sentenced five students from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences to three months of effective imprisonment on Monday evening. This decision follows violent incidents that took place at the college earlier in January.
The public prosecutor charged the detained students with several offenses, including participating in a brawl that caused injuries, damaging movable property belonging to others, vandalizing public utility assets, insulting a public official in the line of duty, and possessing weapons without legal authorization, thereby endangering the safety of people and property.
The incident occurred on January 2 within the campus of the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences at Abdelmalek Essaadi University. Violent clashes between two leftist student factions led to injuries and property damage, including the destruction of several vehicles on university grounds.
