Ministro español de Asuntos Exteriores: La « hoja de ruta » con Marruecos « un éxito que continuará »
Spain’s acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, praised the « success » of the roadmap agreed upon between Spain and Morocco and assured that it would « continue. »
« A roadmap is a long-term commitment between the two countries, » emphasized Albares in an interview with the Spanish news agency Europa Press, which was published on Sunday.
In this context, the Spain’s top diplomat emphasized the positive outcomes of the new phase in relations between the two nations.
Specifically, Albares highlighted the reduced influx of immigrants arriving on Spanish shores compared to Italy or Greece, « trade statistics that consistently show exponential growth each month, » and « exceptional collaboration in the fight against terrorism. »
He insisted that « all of this demonstrates the success of our plan, which will continue. » For this reason, Albares noted that collaborative relations with Morocco serve as a model for neighboring countries to emulate.
The Spanish Foreign Minister stressed that Morocco remains the foremost priority in Spanish foreign policy. « All the presidents of the Spanish government have emphasized that Morocco is the top priority of our foreign policy, » insisted Albares.
